The last two backgrounds in the Abstract section are fractal pictures. A fractal image is drawn, typically by a computer, using various mathematical formulae. These particular images were created by Richard Bull and were chosen specifically because they would make interesting backgrounds without overpowering the intended subject. Fractals, however, are extremely varied and some amazing images can be produced. If you would like to see more of Richard's work visit his site, The Shores Of Chaos, a link to which can be found on the links page.
