This image was treated using a watercolour effect. A ragged edge has been used to add to the illusion of the picture having been hand painted. Strictly speaking the colour of the border for a watercolour picture should be lighter than any other shade in the painting as the highlights in a true watercolour painting are just parts of the paper where no pigment has been applied.
